Subject: cost plus benefits fro suppliers???? hello there, i am currently studying interior design /decorating as well as trying to learn all i can from various websites, also taking advantage of the e-courses supplied by interior dezine.com  .now my question is.... when you are seeking suppliers and manufacturers for items and services at at designer/ decorator discount, to charge " cost plus " to the client,.. whats in it for thw suppliers/ manufacturers in offering these discounts???  as far as i can see, they gain more by selling for a higher profit by retail. also, here in aus you do not have to have training or be qualified to be a decorator ( although im sure it helps , which is why i am studying and training ) so what stops the average D>I>Y er from gaing these discounts also, thereby receiving more of a discount ( not paying a % to the decorator ) ????? hmmm maybe a little confusing , my question  , but i need clarity. have a lovely day/ evening. anita |
